Evelyn Latka '25 and Job Mavrick '26 have been awarded December 2023 Student-Athletes of the Month.
Evelyn Latka is a current member of the CGA U19/Prep hockey team.

Coach Cory Whitaker said Latka is the prototypical student-athlete who takes all three of her main responsibilities (athletics, academics, leadership) seriously.
"She has had a fantastic month of December in all three of these areas," Whitaker said.
According to CGA counselor Kristi Tomczyk, Latka is a tremendous leader.
"She can often be found leading by example and is an organized, responsible citizen in our dorm and across campus," Tomczyk said. "She is a problem-solver and makes juggling a busy school and hockey schedule look easy."
Job Mavrick is a current member of the Culver wrestling team.

"We lost our returning heavyweight semi-state qualifier this year, which I expected to be a pretty big blow to our lineup," coach Patrick Mulkerin said. "But Job has stepped up and made a huge impact, consistently earning us bonus team points with pins when we needed them."
CMA counselor Mike Kershner said Mavrick is a diligent worker, both as a student and an athlete.
"He finds time to schedule and balance both his academic load and athletic requirements," Kershner said. "I often find Job utilizing his open block and downtime to put in extra time on homework. When he is not doing this, he will instead be headed off to the gym to get an extra lift or workout in."
