CGA Track and Field posts back-to-back-to-back regional championships

It was an eventful Tuesday evening for the Culver Girls Academy track and field team. The girls traveled to Goshen for the IHSAA regional championship and came out on top over 47 teams. CGA scored 61 total points, edging out Penn (57) and Warsaw (56). CGA has now won three straight regional titles.
 
Lena Spiller '23 was once again in the spotlight in the jumping events. She finished first in high jump with a mark of 5' 3", and first in long jump. Her long jump mark of 17' 11.5" becomes the second-best long jump in CGA history.

Quinn Bird '24 also had a great night. She finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.96, breaking her own CGA school record by .66 seconds. Bird was also the anchor leg in the 4 x 400-meter relay team that finished second. The team consisted of Bird, Brighton Bird '23, Grace Gibbs '24, and Spiller. They finished with a time of 4:03.81.

Other notable performances came from Susie Bourdier '24 and Celeste Gram '24. Bourdier finished fourth in pole vault at 10' 6. Gram finished fifth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:19.25. Full results can be found here.

Next up for the girls is the IHSAA state finals at Indiana University – Bloomington on June 3.
