Jack Quigg '24 and Amelia Binkley '26 have been awarded September 2023 Student-Athletes of the Month.
Jack Quigg is a four-year member of the CMA soccer team.
"A prominent figure on the field, his 100% effort approach impacts those around him," head coach Kevin Green said. "His unselfish play draws attention away from other players, allowing them the opportunity to create."
Quigg is also taking on the role of Regiment Supply Officer.
"Jack is a member of the Regt Staff, who consistently works with the uniform department to keep on top of laundry and uniform issues, turn-ins and coordinates well with his Battalion supply representatives. He also works with the staff on the inspection teams, responsible for the daily tasks of keeping an eye on standards," Green said.
Amelia Binkley is a two-year member of the CGA volleyball team.
At the start of the season, she was asked if she would be willing to give up her middle hitter position and be a full-time setter running a 5-1 offense.
"This was a huge request of any player, but especially a sophomore with limited setting experience. She simply said 'Yes, if that's what the team needs,' " head coach Matt Boland said. "Her team-first attitude, combined with a great deal of hard work has really paid off. With Amelia at the helm of the offense, we have been exceptionally productive. Her dedication is allowing us to run a faster and more efficient offense. We haven't had a contest yet where the opposing coach has not commented on what a great setter we have," Boland said.

Despite primarily setting up others for kills, Amelia has 34 kills and a .147 hitting percentage

Solid defender who is 3rd on the team in blocks (16) and 4th in digs (144)
"Our team is having one of its best seasons ever with a 20-5 record heading into the last week of the regular season and Amelia's selfless approach to filling the role our team needs has been a primary factor," Boland said.
On top of all she has taken on for the volleyball team, she is doing it with a full academic load including advanced geometry, and has been noted by several teachers for her hard work as a student.
"Amelia is a valuable team member in all facets of her life here at Culver," Boland said.
