December 2022 athletes of the month

CGA's Dionna Craig and CMA's Sami Kettaneh have been named the athletes of the month for December.
 
Craig '23, from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was nominated by CGA basketball coach Bill Murchie.
 
"Dionna Craig has been an outstanding leader for this program since she arrived back on campus in August," said Murchie. "She has helped guide the Eagles to a 10-5 record at the break and is our leading scorer (14.7 ppg) and leader in steals per game (2.8). More important than her scoring, Dionna has found a way to bring together a group of players that has a variety of new and old faces. She is not only an outstanding basketball player, but an amazing teammate and friend."
 
Craig also is second on the team in assists. The CGA basketball team just wouldn't be the same without Dionna's skill, leadership, and personality.
 
Skip Nichols nominated the boys winner this month, CMA fourth-classman Sami Kettaneh.
 
Kettaneh '26, from Hollis, New Hampshire, helped lead the polo team to its first win of the year against the St. Louis Polo Club on December 9.
 
"Sami joined the Polo program this year and has quickly been elevated to team Captain for his outstand efforts on and off the field," said Nichols. "He has organized extra polo pit training schedules and been instrumental in the training sessions to coach and mentor the other players, which has born fruition with Culver earning its first win over St Louis.  He has helped to galvanize the team and develop a team spirit that is now clear to see, and all this as a freshman!"
