Ti Sante '25 and Ty Rakan '26 have been awarded April 2024 Student-Athletes of the Month.
Ti Sante is a member of the Culver Girls Lacrosse team.

CGA head coach Debi Trau said Sante is a total team player who puts the well-being and success of her teammates first and foremost. "She's the first to get back on the ride, to run to X on transition, and to move the ball to open players," Trau said.
Trau believes the most valuable player is not the player who leads in stats, but someone who leads through individual unselfish actions, holding the team together to work successfully.
"Ti exhibits exemplary leadership, sportsmanship, and unselfish play," Trau said. "She welcomes feedback from her coaches with an open mind and a will-do attitude. Ti always encourages her teammates to do their best. She goes all out during practices and games and always encourages others to do the same."
Beyond athletics, this same theme was echoed by her counselor, Brenna Payne, as Sante was elected as Benson Dorm's 2024-25 Honor Rep.
Payne highlighted that Sante's election signifies that her dormmates see her as a strong and trustworthy leader.
"In this position, she will be in charge of introducing all new Benson students to the CGA way of life through Crest lessons, and of course, will serve on the CGA Honor Council," Payne said.
Ty Rakan is a member of the Culver Baseball team.
Coach Kurt Christiansen said Rakan is ultra-competitive, and the team feeds off of his confidence. Leading the team in doubles and triples, Rakan has made an immediate impact in the baseball program.
"He is a great athlete and a fluid defender at shortstop," Christiansen said. "Ty is also a powerful hitter, able to drive the ball gap-to-gap. On the mound he has improved throughout the season, most recently beating a strong NorthWood team throwing a 1 hit, complete game."
CMA counselor Andrew Melshen mentioned that Rakan is a competitor who brings a level of intensity to the game that allows his peers to perform at their highest level across all seasons as a three-sport athlete.
"I am excited to see him continue to grow and take on more responsibilities, in all facets across campus," Melshen said.
