Coach Phillips rejoined the Culver Hockey staff in the summer of 2022. No stranger to Culver Academies, Phillips started his coaching career at the Henderson Ice Arena in 2016. Phillips will be focusing on the development of the goaltenders for each of the CMA and CGA hockey teams.
He most recently served as the Director of Hockey Operations at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) from 2019-2022. During his time at BGSU, the 2020-21 goaltending duo of Eric Dop and Zack Rose were one of only two tandems in the country to be recognized on initial watch list for the Mike Richter Award that honors the top goaltender in NCAA Division 1 men’s ice hockey. Shortly after the 2021-22 season, freshman goaltender Christian Stoever, represented the Falcons in the Anaheim Ducks’ development camp. In addition to his role on the hockey staff, Phillips completed his Master’s degree in Sports Administration.
Phillips is an active coach with USA Hockey. He supports player, goaltender, and coach development at both the regional and national level.
Prior to his professional career, Phillips played college hockey as a goaltender at Michigan State University from 2011-16.
